Following on from part 1 of our make up routine, let’s look at the best products once your skin has been prepped for makeup application.

Foundation

Once your skin is prepped, it’s ready for a foundation that matches your skin tone. The shade of your foundation isn’t the only thing we should look out for when selecting a product, as you can purchase a foundation that suits your skin type too.

Foundation for dry skin

For dry skin, the Jane Iredale Dream Tint Moisture Tint SPF is a creamy foundation that hydrates and prevents water loss. This makes it perfect for dry and flaky skin to keep it moisturised all day.

Foundation for sensitive skin

The Jane Iredale Dream Tint Moisture Tint SPF 15 is not only effectively hydrating for the skin, but water-loss prevention is also great for calming inflammation. This makes it ideal for sensitive skin. The SPF 15 helps protect your skin against the sun too.

Another foundation that hydrates the skin while providing coverage is the La Roche Posay Rosaliac CC Cream. The colour-correcting cream is enriched with Ambophenol extract to neutralise redness caused by sensitive or irritated skin.

Foundation for oily and spot-prone skin

Many of us with oily and spot-prone skin want to either hide blemishes away in a cakey and pore-blocking foundation or feel that foundation isn’t an option. There are however foundation options that won’t add further moisture to your skin. Using a powder-based foundation such as the Pure Pressed Mineral Powder by Jane Iredale will help absorb excess moisture while covering acne and uneven skin tone.

Brushes for foundation application

To apply your foundation, many people decide to use their fingertips. This however can result in an uneven application, and bacteria from your hands can spread into your pores, causing potential blemishes.

The High-Definition Buffer Brush is perfect for applying your base layer. The flat-topped bristles allow you to accentuate the bone structure while creating a flawless and blended base.

Our High-Definition Contour Brush is angled to sculpt the face with precision. The angle can help contour your face as desired and the soft and gentle bristles allow for smooth distribution of foundation and bronzer.

Concealer

Concealer for dry and uneven complexion

The Uriage Roseliane CC Cream with SPF30 conceals redness, it also adds radiance to the skin for a glowy look. The colour correcting feature events out skin tone for a natural complexion as well as incorporating Uriage Thermal Water with moisturising and soothing properties for a long-lasting and sheer finish.

Concealer for sensitive and spot-prone skin

For sensitive and spot-prone skin, the Sebium Global Cover Concealer by Bioderma reduces redness using green pigments. It also prevents new blemishes from forming by rebalancing the composition of sebum to its natural protective functions.

Concealer for ageing skin

Jane Iredale has a great Active Light Under Eye Concealer that is designed to be used on those who are concerned about fine lines and wrinkles. It reduces puffiness and inflammation around the eyes while disguising wrinkles, with ingredients such as cucumber, white tea extract and buckwheat wax that calm tired eyes.

Bronzer

The Jane Iredale Moonglow Golden Bronzer uses four shades to create a golden goddess look. Suitable for all skin types, the Moonglow Bronzer can be applied to the cheeks, neck and chest as an all-over bronzer. Made with 24-Karat gold flakes, the bronzer can be applied using all four shades swirled together or by using a smaller brush to apply the tones separately.

Blusher

Blusher is great for adding a subtle hint of pink to your cheeks, for a soft wash of just-blushed colour. Jane Iredale Barely Rose is ideal for paler skin tones and can be applied after your base layer of foundation, or directly to primed skin for a more natural look. It’s suitable for most skin types so you don’t need to worry about skin irritation or sensitivity. The Purepressed Copper Wind Blush provides a warmer shade for darker skin tones.

Mascara

While mascara doesn’t have as much effect on the skin type, our top recommendations for mascara include the High Definition Volumising Mascara and Jane Iredale's Longest Lash Thickening and Lengthening Mascara. Both lift and extend the lashes while the High Definition mascara includes an anticlumping and nourishing formula. Jane Iredale mascara contains sea minerals to promote growth.

For longer lashes, before applying mascara you can apply Jane Iredale's Purelash Extender Conditioner. The primer will help strengthen, lengthen and thicken your lashes.

To complete the look for a night out, or if you’re just feeling glam, the High Definition Bombshell Faux Lashes are easy to apply and can be reused and contain 2 sets of lashes for varied looks.

Eyeshadow

Total Body Care also stocks a range of eyeshadow products. The High Definition Bombshell Eye and Brow Palette contains beautifully blendable eyeshadows with a carbon black shade that can be used to line the eyes. Apply using a High Definition Smudger Brush for smokey eyes, or the High Definition Angled Eye Shading Brush for a softer look.

Brows

Brows define the face and create your signature look. The High Definition Brow Beater is a non-sticky setting gel, setting your brows in place for a full and natural look. Use the High Definition Bombshell Eye and Brow to add colour and apply using a High Definition Fine Angled Brow Brush. Complete the look using a High Definition Brow Highlighter to enhance brows.

Lips

Lips are the final stage in your makeup routine. If you suffer from dry lips, the High Definition Bombshell Lip Palette contains 5 shades from subtle nudes to bold reds for any occasion.
